Today, October 1, is not only the day that marks the beginning of spooky season, but it’s also a special month to honor Filipino-American heritage! This month, I want to share the success stories of Filipino-Americans who own businesses, who built their careers from the bottom, and who just have interesting stories through a new podcast series I’m starting: A Kultura Konversation! My first guest will be Paul Jochico, an inspiring dance and yoga instructor who started Kapwa Yoga studio that teaches you, through yoga, to spiritually connect with yourself and your roots. It will be coming out next Friday!
The Kultura has been a learning curve in my career as a growing independent reporter and media entrepreneur building this newsletter into a platform that represents Filipinos across the diaspora, as well as a journey of self-discovery in defining who I am as a Filipino-British expat in New York City. It has been such a privilege to have created this newsletter to uplift and share the voices of my fellow country people and I plan to continue representing the Filipino community.
This month, I am offering a 20% discount when you become a monthly paid subscriber - that means, you will only be paying $4 a month to support and help me continue my work as an independent journalist, as well as get exclusive access to my upcoming podcast. On top of that, I still have a few more print copies of my zine which you will also receive! (It is only limited to 20 people, so it’s a first come first serve!) This offer will last until the end of Filipino-American Heritage Month, November 1.
