Taking a mental health break
Pausing content to focus on my mental-health wellbeing and my career.
With the changing of seasons, with my career beginning to fire up, and several projects that I’ve been involved in taking off, I decided to take a break from The Kultura newsletter to focus on myself and reach for certain goals. It has been such a pleasure to write to you this past year about my reporting, research, writing and talking about Filipino identity and politics and local events and history. I adore you all for the support and will be forever grateful.
I won’t be gone forever and I will return - I’m just taking a step back. It’s been an overwhelming past few weeks as I’ve taken on the NFT project, freelancing, and pursuing other opportunities, and I just want to take the time to mentally relieve myself.
Hopefully this won’t lose you, as you all have been loyal readers to me and I appreciate your interests and constant engagement with my content. I plan to return with new and interesting content when I am ready.
I want to give a special shoutout to my first subscribers who have been there since the beginning: my cousin Justine, Siani, Nevaeh, and Ruby.
Special shoutout to my most engaged readers: Joanne, Meltina, Laurence, and Blake.
In the meantime, I would appreciate if you took the time to fill out this short survey and give me feedback. I’d love to know what you’re thinking, your thoughts, and how I can become a better journalist:
I will still be active on my Instagram (@kultura.papers) page where I’ll continue to post Filipino-related infographics and other social media content.
Until next time…
